同學作品分享-Canvas Shading格繡（光影細節）

第一次看到Susan的Canvas Shading作品時，我是非常驚艷的。所以後來又有機會再遇到時，就決定徵得她的同意來分享一下這個類別的刺繡。

Susan之所以在Canvas Shading這個類別選擇這張芒果的圖片，是因為它有著簡潔的形狀和豐富的色彩變化。由於主要是操作Tent Stitch這個針法而已，所以可以完全專注在顏色的處理上，這裡她大約用了七十色的羊毛繡線呢！

學習如何結合兩種不同顏色的繡線，還有哪些顏色需要被放入才能呈現出準確的光影效果，對Susan來說是一件很有趣的事情。而芒果下方的陰影建構了畫面的景深，在還沒有加入之前是顯得有點不夠立體的。

這應該是她在RSN最享受刺繡過程的作品之一了！

I chose this picture of mangoes for my Canvas Shading because it combined simple shapes and vibrant colours. As the picture is stitched using tent stitch I was able to concentrate on the colour. I used around 70 different shades of Appletons Wool.

It was very interesting to learn how to shade the picture using two different threads in the needle, and to discover which colours needed to be combined to give the right effect. The shadow beneath the mangoes gives depth and perspective to the picture. Before I put the shadow in the picture looked rather flat.

This is probably one of most enjoyable projects that I have done at the RSN.
